Architecture Awards 2018 – Open Day

The Australian Institute of Architects recognise the best buildings completed in the preceding year in their annual awards program. Each year the Robin Boyd Foundation, in co-operation with the Australian Institute of Architects Victorian Chapter, is pleased to host a self guided tour of outstanding awarded and shortlisted projects in Victoria. See the 2018 Open Day buildings below.

Six projects including the named award winners in the major residential categories: New, alterations & additions, small projects and interior architecture. See list of projects below.

We have the wonderful opportunity to tour award winning Nightingale 1 by Breathe Architecture. Separate tickets must be purchased for this tour due to very limited availability. (Please note the different access time for Nightingale 1: 1pm–4pm)

We will be hosting a Design Insight evening at Walsh Street on Tuesday August 14 (6 for 6.30pm start). 4 architects will present and discuss their projects prior to the open day.

7 Properties in total were open on Sunday 19th August. A separate ticket was required for Nightingale 1 with a different access time.

6 residential homes were open between 10.00am and 4.00pm 

Nightingale 1 was open between 1.00pm and 4.00pm

Please note:  All participating buildings were self-guided tour, and several properties involved stairs.

Open Day Tickets must be pre-purchased. Tickets for individual properties are not be available. Robin Boyd Foundation Open Day tickets are limited and normally sell out, so you are encouraged to become a Friend of the Robin Boyd Foundation to get advance notice on all events and ticket sales.
