SOLD OUT | Bewdy: Tim Ross and Bob Murphy in Conversation
Thu November 21, 2024 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm AEDT
$30 – $40
Join us at Walsh Street with Tim Ross and AFL legend Bob Murphy for a captivating conversation about all things Australia. In celebration of his latest book, Bewdy, Tim explores the complexities and milestones of life, weaving together shared nostalgic memories. Together with Bob, he will reflect on their experiences growing up in suburban Australia during the 70s and 80s, sharing stories that resonate with a sense of time and place.
In Bewdy, Tim Ross deftly captures the conundrums, vignettes, and milestones that life throws our way, celebrating a world where we often borrow from the memories of others while lamenting the sad demise of the communal bowl of Cheezels. “I often reply to good news in emails with the simple word ‘Bewdy! ” says Tim, “ I think it’s a word that encapsulates the optimism of this country, and it’s unashamedly ours. This little book of stories is full of tales that I desperately wanted to see in print. It’s a fabulous little summer read — I think it’s a bewdy.”
Tim Ross is a celebrated comedian and a passionate advocate for architecture and design promoting its value in multiple forums. He is the recipient of the National Trust Heritage Award for Advocacy regarding Australia’s legacy of modernist architecture ; of an Australian Institute of Architects National President’s Prize for activism and outstanding contribution to the profession ; was a National Architecture Awards jury member and was awarded as an honorary Institute member.
Robert “Bob” Murphy is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League. Renowned for his silky skills and leadership qualities, Murphy also proved a versatile player, equally capable of playing in attack or in defense depending on the situation. Post his playing career, Bob has had a successful media career in writing, TV presenting and commentary.
