Join Monash Gallery of Art Senior Curator, Pippa Milne for a tour of the exhibition Robin Boyd: A Portrait of an Australian house. This exhibition celebrates the architecture of Robin Boyd through the medium of photography.
Contemporary photographers, Lauren Bamford and Lydia Wegner have been commissioned to produce new work centred on The Wright House, in Warrandyte, one of Boyd’s iconic family homes. The two artists will offer a fractured view of The Wright House, accompanied by a historic photographs by Mark Strizic from the 1950s, 60s and 70s. As a whole, this show offers an intimate and striking portrait of a specific Australian home, and of Robin Boyd’s daring and beguiling conception of what the Australian home could be.
