For the second year running, we welcome you to this unique collaboration between the Robin Boyd Foundation & Edwin Fox Furniture. Through demonstrations, this workshop will cover the basics of construction including how to deconstruct to repair furniture. Join Edwin Fox at Walsh Street for this introduction workshop if you have cherished pieces of mid century furniture in need of restoration – or improve on existing skills such as timber stripping, sanding, re-finishing, upholstery and aftercare.
Presenter: Edwin Fox
Edwin runs Edwin Fox Furniture, an independent restoration and furniture store. Specialising in mid-century, he hopes that through his work to connect the importance of sustainability, reducing waste while working with inspiring objects from the past.
Edwin has a background in art and design, including a National Vocational Qualification in traditional upholstery. Edwin has channeled his skills and energy into the physical aspects of design, whereby his career has now evolved into the restoration of furniture here in Melbourne.
What to expect:

- Overview of finishes, the do’s not dos (varnishes, stains, oils, polishes)

- Tickets may be transferred to another name, but we must be notified in advance of name changes.
