SOLD OUT Lauren Garner: Montague: Adapting Density

Tue February 25, 2025 @ 10:50 am AEDT

$20 – $30

House Show Exhibition viewing including pop-up talk: Lauren Garner: Montague: Adapting Density

The Montague project is a speculative framework for sustainable urban renewal developed as part of the CRC 4.0 Housing initiative. Located in Fishermans Bend, Melbourne, the work explores the integration of adaptive reuse within the rezoning process from industrial to residential. It employs experimental planning tools—Social Housing Uplift, Open Space Uplift, and Development Contributions for character buildings—to illustrate how policy can support density while prioritising environmental integrity and heritage retention.

Lauren Garner is a registered architect and Associate Lecturer at RMIT University. Her work explores the intersections of heritage, adaptive reuse, and urban development. She is driven by a commitment to reinterpreting existing conditions—buildings, sites, or policies—to shape architecture that responds thoughtfully to contemporary challenges.
