RMIT Design Archives Journal, Vol 9 No 1, 2019 Special Issue: Robin Boyd Redux: Contexts and Critique, edited by Karen Burns and Harriet Edquist, will reposition him within global and local media circuits. How were his key ideas and media projects formed through exchanges with others? How did media infrastructures such as The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, Women’s Weekly, the ABC or Britain’s Architectural Review provide platforms to support and expand the work of Boyd and other architectural intellectuals in Australia? What audiences were constructed through these media sites? How did critical exchanges with resident émigré and visiting international architects shape the contours and focus of his work? By situating Boyd’s writings and media performances within networks and dialogues we aspire to locate Boyd within a more detailed context and provide critical accounts of the circulation and reception of his ideas.
